You Butter Believe It, Love

One of my most favorite people in this lifetime will tell you that butter (specifically salted butter) is the secret ingredient to the sweet. To the savory. Sometimes even to the spicy. It changes form with ease and beauty. It serves as both the foundation and conduit to coax out, embolden what’s possible. Cookies. Cakes. Carmelized onions. Braised anything. The list, the possibility is infinite. And, so it is with seeing and knowing our togetherness, our oneness in this journey. We’re each our own one-pot concoctions full of all, all the flavors but together we’re a formidable feast of love, a potluck that changes it all for everyone. Julia Child once quipped, “With enough butter, anything is good.” And together, together everything is possible, love. #Butter

And, then there’s Jack Johnson strummin’ it and singin’ it to the soul.

“Better Together”
There’s no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart
Our dreams,
And they are made out of real things
Like a shoebox of photographs
With sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer.
At least for most of the questions in my heart.
Like: “Why are we here?”, “And where do we go?”,
“And how come it’s so hard?”.
It’s not always easy,
And sometimes life can be deceiving
I’ll tell you one thing:
It’s always better when we’re together
Mmm, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, we’ll look at them stars when we’re together
Well, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together

And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We’re better together.
